We Believe In Change

Since inception in 1993, Mother’s Nest has become a place of safety for abused boys and girls aged between 6 months and 18 years. These children are removed from their parents and placed in our care by the South African children’s court due to abandonment, neglect, emotional and physical abuse.

We aim to provide our children with stability, love and care in a safe and warm atmosphere. For many, this is the first in their young lives. We place emphasis on creating a normal and natural home environment, as it is crucial in the moulding of balanced, responsible adults and breaking the cycle of abuse.

Administration and fundraising are undertaken on a completely voluntary basis and all money raised goes directly to the children. We do not receive subsidies of any kind and rely entirely on several fundraising events throughout the year as well as the generosity of the community we operate in.

Mother’s Nest is level 4 BBBEEE compliant and is a registered public benefit organization. Therefore, in terms of Section 18A of the Income Tax Act all donations are exempt from income tax.
